Medical Travel FAQs

The GMT planning team reviews your travel preferences, confirms your service needs and puts together a custom proposal. We email you a link to download our app and review your proposal. From there you can make changes, communicate directly with your planner, and make a deposit to secure your reservation.

Our planning office is open Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm. We are closed on weekends and major holidays, but our clients have dedicated support while they travel 24/7.

Given the nature of providers' and clinics' strict schedules and travel planning requirements - we do not offer same day booking.

Not currently. We only provide same-day, round trip service to Tijuana from San Diego County.

GMT provides non-medical coordination and destination management services for elective international medical and aesthetic travel. We handle planning, scheduling, transportation, logistics, and communication as contracted so clients don’t have to manage everything themselves - especially in a foreign country where you are unfamiliar with provider options, may not speak the local language or be aware of cultural customs, and want the added peace of mind of a dedicated concierge for your travel so you can focus on your care and not the travel logistics.

Yes. You may work with providers you have independently selected, or request coordination with providers we have vetted through our strict criteria. In either case, our role remains the same: non-medical coordination and logistics support.

Medical professionals, clinics and travel partners are continuously vetted, and may include:

  • Verification of licenses, certifications, and accreditations
  • Confirmation of procedure-specific experience and tenure
  • Review of infrastructure, environment, staff professionalism, and ratings
  • Assessment of communication responsiveness and clarity
  • Review of pricing consistency and billing practices
  • Understanding of complication, revision, and escalation protocols
  • Identification of an English-speaking point of contact with decision-making authority
  • Our criteria pillars are outlined here on our services page.

We can support coordination in any destination, provided the services requested can be responsibly managed within our operational standards. Some destinations and providers may have established workflows, while others may require additional vetting and planning.

Yes. We offer both group-based and private coordination, depending on the service and destination. Group trips follow fixed dates and deadlines, while private coordination allows more flexibility.

Services vary by engagement but may include appointment coordination, travel and transportation logistics, accommodations, group or private day-trip planning, communication support, and a consolidated itinerary. All services are clearly outlined before you commit. You can pick and choose what is right for your planning needs. Our services are outlined on our same-day and extended-stay pages.

A deposit is required to begin coordination. Final payment terms are outlined in your service agreement. Medical procedures are billed separately and are subject to our coordination fees unless clearly stated.

Same-Day deposits are refundable, as long as not within a 48 hour window of service. Refund Policy here. Extended-Stay deposits are non-refundable as they cover coordination work and vendor commitments. Rescheduling is allowed in unique scenarios. All refund policies are explained clearly before payment is collected.

If changes or disruptions occur, we help coordinate available solutions within scope. Any additional costs resulting from client requests, delays, or disruptions are the client’s responsibility unless otherwise stated. For Same Day Services, we allow reschedules within 6 months of cancellation.

Medical care, outcomes, and follow-ups are the responsibility of your medical provider. We can assist with communication and logistics support where appropriate, but we do not manage or intervene in medical care.

Yes - we understand the travel regulations and requirements and advise you on what to expect and manage the process of obtaining all required paperwork so you can travel across borders with ease. This includes, visas, tariffs, vaccinations and even cultural customs.
